My mission as Fire Chief is to provide the citizens of Bonham with the best fire service that we possibly can, and to have the best trained department in the county. The citizens of Bonham deserve this.

Chief Austin has been instrumental in the construction of the new station which was completed in 2018. He along with its dedicated members have become apart of the SC Fire Safe program which strives to educate its citizen on fire safety, and Bonham has been apart of this program since 2019.

Chief Austin has also worked hard to lower its ISO rating which was a class 6 when he took over and now it has became a class 4/4y. Chief Austin has also worked very hard with the Board of Directors to purchase (2) new engines for the department without having to raise taxes to accomplish this.
